Scott Pendleton and Front Range Fire Damage

Scott Pendleton launched Front Range Fire Damage after working directly on properties hit by the Waldo Canyon Fire in Mountain Shadows and the Black Forest Fire that destroyed 489 homes across the Peyton and Falcon border. Those events showed him how smoke travels through the wildland-urban interface and settles into homes that never caught fire, from 1970s tract houses in Security-Widefield to large-lot properties tucked in the Black Forest. He built the company around the specific conditions of the Front Range at 6,035 feet, where dry air changes how soot lands and how quickly odors travel through ductwork.

One key difference Scott sees every day is between wildfire smoke infiltration and structure-fire soot. Wildfire smoke carries fine particles from burning vegetation that can pass through every crack and vent without the house ever burning, while structure-fire soot is heavier, oil-based, and often mixed with melted plastics. Because of that difference, the cleaning sequence changes: crews must first extract all suppression water from carpets, walls, and subfloors before any soot removal begins, or the water will drive the soot deeper into porous materials and make odors permanent.

Today the work still centers on the same neighborhoods and the same deadlines that come with claims tied to Fort Carson, Peterson Space Force Base, and the Air Force Academy. Scott keeps the company owner-operated so every job stays tied to the actual conditions of Colorado Springs rather than a distant checklist.
